Snorkel with a Marine Biologist

Three kids and a woman standing together on a dock near a body of water with trees in the background. They are all wearing black wetsuits and smiling at the camera.

Let our experienced marine biologist/educators introduce you to the amazing undersea world in a sheltered lagoon in Key Largo!

Participants will be led by a marine biologist the entire time. We will begin by getting an up close (and hands on!) view at some of the critters to be on the lookout for during the snorkel. Then participants will be taught how to use each piece of snorkel equipment and be fitted for snorkel gear (we will adapt this portion to snorkel experience level of participants –experienced snorkelers are welcome!). Snorkel time! After the snorkel, if group is still up for some more science, we will use microscopes to take a closer look at the critters that live in the lagoon that you can’t see while snorkeling.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about snorkeling and practice in a safe controlled setting under the guidance of our experienced staff before heading out on one of Key Largo’s many amazing snorkel tours of the coral reef!

If you’re already an experienced snorkeler, we will show you how to find and identify many of the marine animals and plants you’ll encounter anytime you go snorkeling in the coastal waters of the Upper Florida Keys.
