PADI Instructor Exam
The PADI Instructor Examination (IE) is an evaluation program designed to assess instructor candidates’ knowledge, teaching skills, and practical abilities as they work toward becoming PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.
The Key Largo, Florida Instructor Examinations take place over approximately two and a half days. The program begins with orientation on Friday evening and continues through the weekend, concluding with the final examination activities on Sunday afternoon at Jules’ Lagoon at MarineLab.

Unwind at the end of the day with a peaceful Floating Sound Bath at Jules’ Lagoon, presented by Lone Palm Yoga & Wellness.
During this 60-minute experience, participants will relax on a float or paddleboard while enjoying soothing sound, guided mindfulness, and the gentle movement of the lagoon. The natural setting creates a unique opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the water and surroundings.
No yoga or meditation experience is needed. Guests may bring their own float or paddleboard, and a limited number of floats may be available to borrow. Those who prefer to stay on land, or who have limited mobility, are welcome to enjoy the experience from the dry dock area.
Please arrive about 10 minutes early for check-in and required waivers. Bring water, comfortable clothing, and a towel or light blanket for extra comfort.

Pre-registration recommended. Walk-ins welcome if space is available.
Because Jules’ Lagoon is a protected marine environment, guests are asked not to feed, touch, or disturb marine life.
